Meet Yolanda Cooper-Sutton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Cooper-Sutton.

Yolanda Cooper-Sutton

Hi Yolanda, we are so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My beginning started as a child eager to take care of the less fortunate assisting and giving my time to those who were always downplayed not cared for. So this was my destiny and it’s where my love is we’re my joy.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Never a smooth road with any of this. The mindset to never give in to the failures, disappointments, or the no.

Always looking through the lens I know it’s a better way and it is.

It’s called timing is one of the most important factors in life. Once you can tap into that your life works itself out to its fullness without any reservations.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am Yolanda Cooper-Sutton. My professional consists of many different hats as a woman. My field is health care which can take you in many directions. I have a love for serving people of all ages. My work over the years has caused me to have a huge extended family and friends add to my life across the city of Memphis and the world. I advocate for the underserved population. One person put it like this, and I quote “Yolanda, genuinely cares. I worked with Mrs. Yolanda Sutton for three years at CareMore.

Different employers work toward a common goal. A great presence, and she genuinely cares. I’ve experienced and seen her work, as well as witnessed her getting some resolve in any and every situation put before her. She went to bat for our patients whether they were healthy, ill, or homeless. She’s God-fearing, and loves her husband, all people, her career, and Tennis! At the end of a workday, she would change into her tennis outfit, grab her gear, and leave the office as she would say with assurance “Gotta go whoop some tail”. I knew she was going to do just that! I trust that she would do the same for the community.

I am known for getting the job done by any means necessary, that I mean on the real! When I show up the narrative changes for the betterment of the community and for the people. I cause good trouble. I am a mover and a shaker.

What are you most proud of? God created me with a unique quality that no one can copycat. What sets me apart is I want to take no for answers until the issue is resolved. I work for each person as if I am working for myself. Everyone is the same with different concerns, want stop can’t stop.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Always being true to yourself. Embracing the qualities that were gifted to me and being able to recognize them, not anyone else.

Never tried to fit in or wear shoes that hurt my feet. Walking in a path with integrity and most importantly LOVE which we have allowed to dismiss in everything we set our hand to do.
